How to Update your Interac Flash® Limit

FAQ
What if I don’t want to use Interac Flash®?
The Interac Flash® function has a Zero liability guarantee for members, which reduces risk to members. Interac Flash® is an optional feature and intended to offer you more convenience. You can choose to not use this feature and continue using your debit card to make purchases by inserting your card into the machine and entering your PIN. If you do not feel comfortable with the new Flash limits, please contact your local branch and have your Flash disabled.
Will the merchant terminal notify me when my Interac Flash® limit is increased?
No, the point-of-sale terminal will not notify you when the Interac Flash® limit is increased.
If I lose my debit card and get a new one, should I repeat the process to increase my Interac Flash® (Tap) limit?
Yes, if you receive a new debit card issued in branch you must start the process again to increase your limit.
My debit card is now expired, and I received a new one in the mail, do I have to start the process again to increase my Interac Flash (Tap) limit?
No, if you received your renewal after April 3, 2023 it will come with the new limits.

Our MEMBER CARD® Debit Card allows immediate, easy access to your accounts via ATM or at point-of-sale terminals. It includes contactless Interac® Flash technology.
Features include:
- Purchasing directly from your StellerVista CU accounts
- Making a deposit using any of the deposit-taking Canadian ATMs on THE EXCHANGE network
- Canada-wide acceptance through ACCULINK®, Interac®, and THE EXCHANGE networks
- S. and international use at ATMs and merchants displaying the CIRRUS® or THE EXCHANGE symbols

How to pay using Interac Flash®
At any terminal that accepts Interac Flash®, simply follow these steps:
- Hold your card no more than 4 cm in front of the terminal
- A beep and/or approved message will indicate your transaction is done
- The purchase amount will be deducted automatically from your bank account
- Purchases made using Interac Flash® will come from the chequing or savings account that’s designated as primary on your credit union debit card. By default, this is set up as your chequing account. If you don’t have a chequing account, your primary account would be savings.
Note: For security purposes, we’ve set spending limits for your Interac Flash® transactions:
- A single transaction can’t exceed $250
- There is a $400 cumulative daily spending limit
When you reached daily spending limit, you’ll be prompted to insert your debit card and enter your PIN. This is an added layer of protection that confirms you are the legitimate cardholder. Insert your card, enter your PIN, and your Interac Flash limits are reset.
